Forest School and Bushcraft
We are able to offer our pupils an exciting programme of outdoor learning. Our Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Mr Morley, is also a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner.
The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through an innovative, long term, educational approach to outdoor play and learning in a woodland environment.
Boys will be able to enjoy a range of fantastic activities including:
- shelter design and building
- learning about the safe use of tools, knots and lashings
- environmental studies
- safe campfire building and lighting
- campfire cooking
Apart from being fun, these activities can have an important impact on our pupils. Through the use of small achievable tasks and free play, the boys' confidence will increase and stimulate their natural curiosity. This will impact positively on their willingness and ability to engage in the classroom.
